ADAS Calibration
Your windshield camera needs recalibration after every replacement. It's not optional.
Overview
What this is.
If your vehicle has lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control — it has a forward-facing camera behind your windshield. After any replacement, that camera must be recalibrated to factory specifications. Without it, your safety systems may not work correctly. Most shops can calibrate same-day with your replacement.
How it works
- 01A diagnostic scan identifies ADAS features on your vehicle.
- 02Calibration targets are positioned at precise distances and angles.
- 03Specialized software communicates with the vehicle's onboard computer.
- 04The system is tested and verified for proper operation.
When to do it
Signs you need this.
- After any windshield replacement on ADAS-equipped vehicles
- If ADAS warning lights appear on your dashboard
- After a front-end collision or major repair
- If lane keep assist or auto-braking behaves erratically
Common in Calgary
- After post-hailstorm windshield replacement (very common in Calgary)
- Warning light after winter pothole damage on Calgary roads
